Why choose Box Maritime?
ISO container corners are installed on all shipping containers. They are the structural elements used to lift, move, and secure shipping containers. On ships, trains, or road vehicles. They are also where shipping containers can be connected to each other, as is the case with container stacks on a container ship.
A container has eight ISO container corners:
- 4 upper corners which are necessary for handling the container by a spreader (lifting beam of port cranes)
- 4 lower corners necessary for securing the container on all types of support, train, boat and truck.
Mechanical resistance table ISO 1161 corners maritime container

and 38 mm (1 1/2 in) longitudinally] 942 kN - Upper intermediate piece [superimposed load offset 25.4 mm (1 in)]
laterally and 38 mm (1 1/2 in) longitudinally] 423 kN - Lower corner piece (on flat support) 1200 kN
- Lower intermediate part (on a flat support) 560 kN
- Lower corner piece in offset position 25.4 mm (1 in) laterally and
